January 6, 2017: EOC celebrated new heights and new faces at the Field Museum as we transitioned into 2017. Amid food, drinks and fun, members and colleagues shared ideas for how EOC can help members, how members can contribute and how to make 2017 an even better year. Diversity and Equity Sustainability Mini-Summit
February 23, 2016: Environmentalists of Color (EOC) and Foresight Design Initiative convened a mini-summit on Diversity and Equity in Sustainability. The two hour-long program focused on tackling the question: how can environmental grantmakers and heads of area sustainability organizations identify barriers and craft proactive strategies for greater inclusivity in Chicago’s sustainability field? With the venue generously offered by the Chicago Community Trust, 62 participants gathered to hear personal stories shared by colleagues and to take part in breakout sessions.
On The Table: “Bringing Racial Equity to the Table”
May 10, 2016: Environmentalists of Color and Faith in Place partnered to host an On The Table conversation titled “Bringing Racial Equity to the Table.” The event was sponsored by the Chicago Community Trust and generously hosted by the Field Museum. The convening brought together 41 attendees to exchange experiences within and ideas for building racial and social equity across Chicagoland communities.
