Blackstone Bicycle Works Program Manager - Experimental Station

Blackstone Bicycle Works is a youth education program of the Experimental Station. Blackstone Bicycle Works is a full-service bike shop dedicated to promoting ecological practices and empowering youths from Chicago's South Side, teaching mechanical skills, job skills, and business literacy to youths ages 8-18. 

The Blackstone Bicycle Works Program Manager works under the direction of and reports to Experimental Station's Executive Director and Assistant Director, who in turn support the role of the Program Manager and the Blackstone Bicycle Works program. The Program Manager is also supported by a full-time Youth Services Coordinator/Head Instructor and a full-time Customer Services Coordinator/Head Mechanic, as well as 3-6 part-time staff and a corps of program volunteers. A successful Program Manager will effectively and efficiently manage Experimental Station's Blackstone Bicycle Works youth program, including the business operations of the bicycle shop. The Program Manager is responsible for advancing short and long-term program goals, for helping to identify program needs and orienting staff and youth participants to meet identified needs, for helping to ensure sustainability of the program, for being a key adult presence and mentor for youth participants, and for facilitating smooth operation of the bicycle shop and youth program, stepping in where and when needed. 

Administrative Assistant - Metropolitan Planning Council

MPC seeks a detail-minded Administrative Assistant who possesses enthusiasm for the Metropolitan Planning Council’s agenda and an eagerness to assist our staff in furthering our mission. The Administrative Assistant provides programmatic and organizational support to advance MPC’s priorities. The Assistant will also provide specific administrative support to three senior staff—Emily Blum, Director of Marketing and Communications, Alden Loury, Director of Research and Evaluation and Audrey Wennink, Director of Transportation.

MPC is looking for an intelligent, highly organized, personable individual who thrives in a collegial work environment and can juggle multiple deadlines. The preferred candidate will have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree and at least two years of work experience. Prior administrative experience and public policy interest/experience is strongly preferred. Expertise with constituent databases, such as MailChimp and Raiser’s Edge is a plus.

Energy Equity Program Manager - California Environmental Justice Alliance

The fiscal sponsor for the California Environmental Justice Alliance is the Environmental Health Coalition (EHC), a member of CEJA. The Energy Equity Program Manager will be an employee of EHC. The Program Manager will report to the Statewide Organizing Director of CEJA. The position will be based in CEJA’s offices in Oakland, Los Angeles, or Sacramento.

The Energy Equity Program Manager will be responsible for working with our Energy Equity Committee; developing, implementing, and managing the Energy Equity program plan; and providing leadership and strategic vision for the Energy Equity Program. 

Energy Equity Committee Management and Community Engagement:

  • Act as the lead of the energy program and responsible for overall management of energy committee.
  • Work with Committee to create and implement overall strategy for achieving energy goals.
  • Monitor annual work plan and ensure work is moving forward smoothly.
  • Plan and facilitate bi-weekly energy committee calls.
  • Plan and facilitate program strategy sessions and other meetings as needed.
  • Keep Energy Equity Committee members up to date on program development and activities.
  • Coordinate with staff at member organizations to recruit and organize participants in CEJA activities as needed.
  • Develop and implement strategies and curriculum to engage community members, such as community trainings.

Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - The Wilderness Society (DC)

The Director of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion & Special Advisor to the President is a highly visible leadership position at The Wilderness Society.  This director will be a key leader of our important organizational imperative to embed equity, diversity and inclusion throughout TWS policies, practices, mission-driven programs, and workplace culture.

The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced leader and strong project manager who can engage staff at all levels to achieve TWS’ equity, diversity and inclusion goals in an integrated way across TWS departments.  This position is responsible for driving organizational change related to this body of work.  The Director will work directly with the TWS President, Executive Team, directors, managers, and staff teams assigned to implement specific facets of the TWS equity, diversity and inclusion workplan.  The Director will engage regularly with TWS Board of Directors and support the work of the Board’s Equity Committee.
