Solid Waste Compliance Specialist - Jackson County Health Department

Full-time (32 hpw) opening in our Environmental Health Division for a qualified Solid Waste Compliance Specialist to perform both field and office work involving the promotion of waste reduction, good solid waste management practices, and enforcement of related laws and ordinances.
Educational Requirements: (Applicant must meet one of these qualifications)

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in the physical and/or biological sciences or a related field, plus the equivalent of 1 year related work experience;
  • A master’s degree in a relevant field;
  • Be an incumbent currently employed as an IEPA Certified Inspector with one year experience in that position.
